We have received this year's first snow! All of the Daffodils, Crocus, Snow Drops, Tulips and Prim Roses have been blooming, and are now buried. It was even mid to upper 50's in our area for a few days and now we have snow... So much for an early gardening start. Glad I hadn't yet!!
I received the gift of seeing a Hummingbird on my birthday on the 7Th! I also found a tiny little nest lined with rabbit fur that the wind had blown to the ground, so I rescued that. It looks like such a cozy little nest, too bad it didn't stay attached to the tree for some tiny little ones.
So, I've now filled the feeder and put it out, knowing where one had come searching, others will follow. I'm very glad I did because yesterday, a very tired and hungry little Rufus female came and actually sat and drank, and drank and drank. I have never ever seen a little hummingbird sit with its beak in the nectar cup for so long. Needless to say I was so glad I put it out for the poor little things.
Just now, I took my little dog out and scared one off. I know it will be back, but still feel bad I scared it.
So, I guess I'm the ruby gem in all of this vast white. It will be a lovely distraction to watch my little visitors come!
Well, my Scones are ready, I'm off to enjoy those as I watch the snow falling. I think that is the magic of Winter's Spell, it makes food taste so much better!! :D
Happy Sunday!

Chaos week
This week has been complete chaos. Storms, flooding and the flu bug have all wreaked havok on my week. Its been an understatement, to say the least, that its distracting. BUT... dispite it all, the newest book Ive been writing seems to be a blessed haven for escape. Because of the flu, Ive only been at it for little bits at a time, but its coming together so nicely I cant seem to stop! I know its going well when I fall in love with my characters and they feel so real in my head that I can just reach out and touch them. Maybe its the fever, maybe its my muse, but its wonderful and Im taking advantage of it.
