Moving into Memorial Day weekend

Memorial Day is the time to pay tribute too those serving our country. I always think its important to remember those who are still living as well as those who are no longer with us. I dont think there is a braver thing one can do, then stand up and fight for their country. I find it horrible and ironic that we have to fight for peace.

I have two brothers, whom I am severly proud of, who served in the Marines. Semper Fi. I also have friends and family serving in Iraq right now. I worry for them every day and hope they safely come home soon to their families and friends who miss them dearly.

I also have family who are retired from the military. We teach our children to be proud of their Papa and to always have respect for the service he carried out in the military. Not only is he a family elder, but also, a retired knight.

In my need to turn everything into fantasy, I see all of these people as modern day knights in shining armor. It is a thin veil to romanticise what war really is. Ugly. There is nothing beautiful about what war does to people, civilizations or humanity. But the hope that we are making a positive difference in the lives of people who need to be uplifted, is there. To not let evil and the ugliness of those who only wish to destroy, win. From that perspective, I feel we are all warriors then.
We all need to fight for peace so that the beauty in life is not lost.
Peace.

I got tagged!

This is the first time I've been tagged... ever, so without further ado:

1. I'm only 4'11. (Booster seat laws cut off at 4'9, sad, isnt it?? DOH!)

2. My favorite flowers are roses.

3. My favorite birds are hummingbirds.

4. I love archery.

5. I love crocheting and knitting. (I think I was a spider in a previous life. : ))

6. I clean my house for story inspiration.

7. I love being in my garden.

8. I love the power behind a good storm.

The Rules:
Here are the rules according to whomever likes to make up rules (not me):
1. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. (All's fair in Lurv and bloggin')
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Here are the people I've tagged:
I'm tagging you whether you've got a blog or not.
If you don't you can post your answers on your myspace or yahoo group, or even your website.
OR, you can just tag eight more people! (Include your web address in your email to them so they can see your wonderful site.)
Keep the meme's rolling. :)

Thief of a Goddess Heart Review

Euro-Reviews

Rating: 5 Stars
Heat Rating: 2 flames
Reviewer: Annie

Thief of a Goddess Heart is an intriguing and fast-paced novel which will entice and capture the reader's attention with its flavour of fantasy and mythology overlaying an exciting plot line and romantic but steamy sensuality. The characters are well-developed and will elicit the reader's empathy. Colleen Love has penned a winner in Thief of a Goddess Heart and this reviewer anticipates future stories from this author.

What if....

What if.... It has to be my favorite question of all time. That, and 'Why'? I have begun research on a new project and I am finding very little on Merpeople. Mermen in particular. MySpace has some beautiful images that Ive posted on my MySpace site though. I love research. I think its nearly as much fun as telling the story. I think a picture DOES speak a thousand words. Im wordy enough to take that challenge on too. Images such as this tell a whole story all by its self! Its beautiful and I hope my story takes me along this path! But for now, I'll just enjoy the picture!
Blessed be,
Colleen Love

Thief of a Goddess Heart

Now available from www.liquidsilverbooks.com!!

Ivy Jones has had a challenging life. She's learned to distrust men, and has sworn off the male population, she firmly believes she has no use for a man. Even her cotton candy pink chopper is a not-so-subtle defiance to all things masculine.
As an Archeologist, Ivy is excavating in an ancient temple and has the good fortune to make the find of a life time-an intact and perfect Athena. But the statuette is more than it appears, there's an ancient curse associated with the Athena-a curse that lies in wait, to be discovered by a
believer of the Goddess herself. It takes possession of Ivy and life begins to take on some unexpected twists. Aside from the fact that she can't leave the statue for long without ill affects, things get steadily worse when The Athena is stolen and she is forced to rely on a smooth and persistent man on whom her life may depend.
Dane Knight knows trouble when he sees it. As a Navy SEAL turned Private Investigator, he has encountered more then his fair share, and has sworn off taking any new cases. Until the theft of The Athena is brought to him. He's drawn into the assignment, unable to resist, especially after he meets Ivy Jones, the Museum's Head Curator. Dreams haunt him, dragging him deeper into
the case, and he begins to soothe her angry, neglected spirit. As she learns to trust him, he begins to peel back the layers, and soon discovers there is more to the case than a mundane theft.
Working together Dane and Ivy do find the statue, and Ivy discovers something more precious than anything else, the cure to her curse.
